Meet Sarah Faulkenberry

With years of experience working towards the betterment of our communities, Sarah Faulkenberry is a passionate leader ready to further elevate our education system and foster the love of learning. 

Spending 18 years in volunteer management, community service, and organizational support, Sarah cultivated leadership skills that will help our school board improve processes, achieve goals, and be better advocates for all BISD students. 

From serving on multiple committees within the BISD including DEIC, IGC, Calendar Committee, Site Based Committees, to serving 6 years in leadership on PTO between Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary and Voss Middle School, to volunteering on the Executive Committee of the Boerne Education Foundation, Sarah has extensive knowledge of our school district. Additionally, she currently serves on the board of the Boerne Chapter of National Charity League, 8th Grade Cotillion Committee, is Volunteer Coordinator of her kid’s summer swim team, and is Steward of a Little Free Library. Sarah has proven her dedication to public service and our community in so many different capacities. 

A proud wife of a wounded veteran, John, she supported their home front through his deployments and served on several different Family Readiness groups. Upon her husband’s medical retirement after he lost his right leg in Afghanistan, Sarah also spent time in roles volunteering, caregiving, working and advocating to provide services for our veterans with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs and Army Community Services. 

Sarah has two children, currently in 8th & 6th grade. Sarah grew up with her mother serving as a teacher and early childhood specialist in her local school district for 28 years. 

Sarah Holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a Graduate Certification in Non-profit Management from the University of Texas-San Antonio and a Bachelor’s Degree in Restaurant Hotel & Institutional Management from Texas Tech University.
